Susan Carnell and Mike Lorenger, both former partners in Hogan & Hartson LLP’s Labor and Employment Group, founded Lorenger & Carnell, PLC in February 2007 in order to provide their clients with top notch legal services at small-firm rates. The firm’s practice is focused on representing employers in both litigation and counseling.

What’s New

• In March 2008, Mr. Lorenger will be the featured presenter in a national audio/web conference addressing overtime and exemption issues arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• In July 2007, the firm won an important victory for its client in litigation in the Fairfax County Circuit Court in which one of its competitors sought a far-reaching preliminary injunction.
• In October 2007, the firm secured a favorable settlement, including a complete release from a non-competition agreement, for the co-founder of an important IT firm.
• In October 2007, the firm won a complete dismissal of several discrimination claims in Maryland for a large utility company.
• In May 2008, Mr. Lorenger will be making two presentations to the Public Broadcasting Management Association in Las Vegas, Nevada.
• In July 2008, Ms. Carnell will address the Northern Virginia Chapter of SHRM regarding pregnancy discrimination.
